THE HISTORY OF SNERTS

Snerts Team

Snerts was formed in 1996 by a group of high school friends looking for an outlet for their outrageous comedy ideas. Their outlet became a series of skit comedy films entitled “Snerts”.

Although Snerts started as a simple comedy troupe, they always had bigger and better ideas for what it could become. As its reputation grew, so did its business plan. Snerts soon gave birth to Snerts Entertainment, an independent production company created in an effort to develop a more diverse group of films and shows.

Snerts Entertainment's first endeavor was a bit of a side step from the skit comedy of its predecessor. The venture was a short dark-comedy film entitled “ Honky Town ”. Honky Town really showed the Snerts troupe that their comedy could explore all sorts of freedoms. From this first film, they went on to test all forms of comedy.

With the effort of the founding members Snerts Entertainment has developed into a full-scale production company. Their camaraderie and dedication to producing quality films sets Snerts Entertainment apart from their competition.

Snerts Team

Matt Coneys Matt Coneys
Producer, Director, and Writer

Matt Coneys is an original member of the Snerts comedy troupe founded in 1996. He has served as head writer and sole director since inception of the company, and boasts a Quarterfinal prize in the International Screen Writing Awards.

With his love of making movies across all genres, Matt is constantly striving to expand the Snerts Entertainment brand. As the company grows to incorporate production, marketing, and distribution Matt plans to be at the forefront of each endeavor.

Adam Contini Adam Contini
Editor, Writer and Sound Engineer

Adam Contini has been an assistant editor covering television and film for over three years.  Adam’s television credits include ‘Paula's Home Cooking’ for the Food Network, ‘Sharp Talk’ featuring The Reverend Al Sharpton for the TVOne Network, ‘The Chappelle Show’ for Comedy Central, and ‘Major League Gaming’ for USA.

Adam’s film work includes “The Night of the White Pants,” “Coma,” “Soul Masters,” and comedian Michael Ian Black's directorial debut “The Pleasure Of Your Company.”

He has recently decided to keep working despite the ever-present allure of perpetual unemployment.
Chris Salierno Chris Salierno
Writer, Director of Photography and Actor

A Snerts co-founder, Chris Salierno has primarily served as an actor and writer with the group.  When Snerts initially formed, Matt and Chris co-wrote the majority of the material as they share the same twisted sense of humor.

Chris has also served as lead actor in most of Snerts Entertainment’s early work.  His quick wit, gift of improvisation, and comfortability with making an ass of himself quickly made him the number one choice for Snerts’ on-screen talent.

Over the years Chris has expanded his role behind the camera, taking up the position of Director of Photography.  As Snerts Entertainment marches on into the future, Chris will continue writing because his sense of humor is still quite twisted.

Chris doesn't want you to know that he is actually a dentist.
Daniel Gibson Daniel Gibson
Sound Engineer, Writer and Web Administrator

A founding member of Snerts; Daniel has appeared in several Snerts projects. More recently he has moved behind the camera helping with casting calls, sound engineering, lighting and even some stunt work.

Daniel is a graduate of Hofstra University with a degree in Computer Information Systems. During his off time he works at ZStrata, a technology firm he helped start several years ago, and also helps administer the Snerts Entertainment Website.

In the meantime he is looking forward to working on future Snerts projects, such as the documentary “Marbles: How a Boy Became a Man; then a Woman” and hopes to find some time to delve into writing.

Amy Coneys Amy Coneys
Co-Producer, PR and Logistics

Amy is the wife of co-founder and Director, Matt Coneys. They met in 1997 as freshman at Ithaca College. While slightly put-off by Matt's "Newborn Evil in a Jar," she quickly realized he was the love of her life. Having a profound love of movies herself, and giving Matt a good run for his money on movie trivia, it is easy to see why they are the perfect couple!

Amy currently works for Integro Insurance Brokers in the Human Resources Department. During her free time, she supports Snerts Entertainment by coordinating their public relations and organizing all logistics for filming. Amy is thrilled that Matt has finally been able to make his dream a reality, and she looks forward to sharing this next step in their lives together.

To quote her favorite movie of all time, "Leave the gun. Take the cannoli."
